I am a postdocoral researcher in the laboratory of Prof. Poole. I did my undergraduate studies and PhD at ETH Zurich, before joining the rhizosphere lab with an SNF Postdoc.Mobility fellowship.
I am working on the metabolic adaptations rhizobia have to undergo to successfully transitions from a soil-dwelling saprophytic bacterium to a nitrogen-fixing endosymbiont within legume root nodules.
Key techniques for my work involve bacterial mutagenesis, nitrogenase activity assays, metabolite analysis, protein purification, and plant tests. The goal is to understand the intricate metabolic interplay between legume hosts and the microsymbiont, and how it affects the efficiency of the symbiosis.
