Floor Langerwerf

I’m currently an MSc student in Molecular and Cellular Life Sciences at Utrecht University. My final internship, spanning five months, is in the Poole Lab. It focuses on plant-growth-promoting rhizobacteria in barley and aims to better understand how plant signals control beneficial traits in the rhizosphere. Previously, I interned in the Plant-Microbe Interactions group in Utrecht with Roeland Berendsen. This involved soybean-related microbiome research and cloning techniques across various rhizobia.

Overall, my interest in agriculturally relevant crop systems and sustainable agriculture has deepened. I enjoy applying molecular biology to questions directly impacting crop improvement and rhizosphere function.
