Carolin Schulte

My research focuses on Systems and Synthetic Biology approaches for understanding the metabolism of rhizobia and their interaction with plants. I am co-supervised by Prof. Antonis Papachristodoulou (Department of Engineering Science, http://sysos.eng.ox.ac.uk/) and applying both computational and experimental methods for my project.

I began my DPhil studies on the BBSRC Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP in 2017, funded by a Clarendon and Keble College De Breyne scholarship. Before coming to Oxford, I did an undergraduate degree in Molecular and Applied Biotechnology at RWTH Aachen University, spending six months in the Bioprocess Laboratory at ETH Zurich for my thesis project.
