We are studying plant-microbe interactions in the rhizosphere using novel high-throughput sequencing (1). We are particularly interested in the microbial community changes due to the influence of different plants and the diagram below summarises these at the phylum and genus level in response to growth of pea, wheat, oat and an oat mutant (sad1) compared with unplanted soil.
