I am an EPSRC-funded student at the University of Oxford’s Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) within the Systems Biology (SYSbio) programme. My DPhil research is with Dr Lindsay Turnbull, Prof. Phil Poole and Dr. Gail Preston, within the Dept. of Plant Sciences. I previously studied at Wageningen University, the Netherlands (BSc biology, 2012).
In my DPhil project, I am using a combination of mathematical modelling and experimental work to investigate i) how legumes allocate resources to their own roots versus to their rhizobial symbionts, under a wide range of external nitrogen conditions and ii) how this influences rhizobial populations in the soil available for future legume generations.
