I am a PhD student in the BBSRC Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP Program and joined Rhizosphere Lab in 2022. My project will focus on understanding the role of bacterial central regulatory networks, namely the phosphotransferase system PTS, in controlling central carbon metabolisms and carbon storage. I use various genetics and biochemistry approaches integrated with metabolic modelling to study the systems. This project is co-supervised by Professor Antonis Papachristodoulou and Dr Jani R. Bolla, and my day-to-day supervisor is Dr Carmen Sánchez-Cañizares.
Before joining the Rhizosphere lab, I did my undergraduate studies in applied biosciences at Nagoya University Japan, where I worked on characterising the impact of nitrate variations on chromatin regulations of plant hormones biosynthesis under the supervision of Professor Sakakibara Hitoshi.
