Albert Fàbregas Flavià

I joined the Poole lab in October 2024 as a postdoctoral researcher. My research focuses on developing new tools for genome engineering in plant-associated bacteria, as well as designing systems to control gene expression in these microorganisms. My academic background is in molecular microbiology and biotechnology. I hold an MRes in Systems and Synthetic Biology from Imperial College London, where I also completed my PhD. During my PhD, I investigated the fitness cost associated with constitutive expression of nif genes in plant-associated bacteria and its impact on large-scale inoculant production. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to discuss my work or potential collaborations!
